Abstract: Ojective: Describe the findings in the literature about the focus groups, through a literature review about its use in the formation, analysis and adaptation of the quality of live assessment instruments. Method: Was performed a descriptive literature review, through a search in the PubMed database using the following descriptors: focus groups, quality of life and questionnaire. A total of 233 articles were found, of these were selected 17 articles, which meet the research objective. Conclusion: After the studies analysis it’s emphasized the importance of the focus groups as a formation method, analysis and to establish a validity of the quality of live evaluation instruments. Therefore we enabled the possibility of using a qualitative method with focus groups to build a specific instrument to assess the worker quality of life.

Key words: Focus groups, Quality of life, Questionnaire.
