A Eficácia da Acupuntura no Tratamento de Pacientes Dependentes de Drogas

Resumo: O objetivo deste trabalho foi o de avaliar a eficácia da acupuntura auricular como instrumento coadjuvante no tratamento das dependências químicas. Para tanto, uma amostra de homens dependentes químicos foi alocada aleatoriamente entre dois grupos: tratamento específico com pontos funcionais de acupuntura, preconizados para este tipo de patologia e tratamento placebo através de pontos sem eficácia comprovada. Os pacientes respondiam um questionário – ESA Drogas, para avaliação da evolução dos parâmetros de funcionamento físico, psíquico e social ao longo do tratamento, que tinha duração de 12 semanas. Conclusão: os pontos efetivos de acupuntura aqui apresentados mostraram-se eficazes no auxílio do tratamento dos dependentes de cocaína desta amostra.

Abstract: The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of auricular acupuncture as a co-adjuvant instrument in the treatment of chemical dependences. For such, a sample of chemical dependant men was randomly assigned into two groups: specific treatment with functional points of acupuncture, and placebo treatment through points without effectiveness. The patients answered a questionnaire - ESA Drugs - for the evaluation of the evolution parameters of the physical, psychic and social functioning during the 12 weeks of treatment. It was concluded that acupuncture was effective in the aid of treatment for the cocaine dependant individuals from this sample.
